Alchemy is an ancient philosophical tradition holding that it is possible to change one type of matter into another. It is a way to manifest material or non-material conditions in the physical world.
It has this in common with the popular Law of Attraction.
Alchemy is known to be practiced across the civilizations of China, India, Europe, and the Islamic World. The main goals are striving for perfection, enlightenment, and immortality. These are the foundational spiritual tenets of most religions.
Alchemy in its highest form seeks to purify both the human spirit and the material world, since everything in the Universe is interconnected. Actions, thoughts, and the environment all affect the Whole. It is not enough to follow only intellect, because that is only one facet of Mind. The Universe is mental and reality is created by thought. Thought is influenced by intuition, which can direct us to trust our dreams and pursue them with dedication.
The practice of alchemy distills down to practical magic that displays the power behind the reason for our life here. It involves cause and effect, intent and action, directed imagination and predictable outcome. It is make believe conditions brought into observable reality. But it is more than performance magic like walking on coals or bending spoons, although such theater is entertaining and serves to reinforce the acceptance of our ability to direct an invisible force.
Alchemy is a catalyst for discovering the meaning of life on Earth within the framework of fully experiencing it. Life is a series of challenging lessons, harder for some, and less so for others. The purpose is learning transformation. Alchemy. Being exposed to hatred, fear, pain, anger, greed, immorality, processing it, and reciprocating with unconditional love.
Instead of generically praying for peace, perhaps we could pray that those who wage war be reminded of and reconnected to unconditional love through our communal intent to send it to them. They have free will. They can decline it. But since we are all connected, sending the positive energy of Love specifically for the highest and best good of those whose actions are a cause of the effect of human suffering theoretically will make a positive change.
We all have the power to be alchemists for the uplifting of humankind. Love yourself enough to love those whose behavior you disagree with. Take your power back and the whole game will change.
